Course Outline

 

PRIME's Microsoft Office course employs Adult Education best practices or andragogy to provide participants with the core competencies required for success in the career world. These core competencies are presented through active learning or energized learning activities with a touch of FUN!

The 4-week course is customized to each learner's needs as well as to the needs of the group as a whole to achieve success. Simulations based on real workplace situations are the foundation for the learning activities.

Each participant is evaluated for their ability in each competency area. Mastery of each competency is accomplished through checks and balances included in each evaluation. Our system of hands on, practical, experiential learning instills in our learners the desire for continuous improvement and the essential working attitude of an inspired and effective leader. They leave the program possessing not only the skills and knowledge of the required competencies, but the associated attitudes as well.

In this course, participants will learn about the essential skills offered by Microsoft Office in relationship to preparing for and obtaining the right position in the world of work.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Microsoft Outlook

 

Learning Objectives and Outcomes

 

Participants will:

  • Explore the prospects of the work world

  • Demonstrate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Acquire job interviewing skills

  • Apply the concepts of technology to developing an outstanding career portfolio

Basic computer skills

MS Office, Laptop - Internet
