Upon successful completion of the Foundations of Business Communications and Leadership course, learners will be able to: Communicate professionally and confidently in meetings, emails, presentations, and team settings. Lead conversations and group sessions using facilitation tools that foster clarity, inclusion, and action. Apply active listening and feedback strategies to build relationships, strengthen teams, and support growth. Demonstrate emotional intelligence and presence, especially during high-stakes or emotionally charged situations. Understand and apply multiple leadership styles, including adaptive, transformational, and Indigenous models. Explore Indigenous governance, ethics, and Nation-based leadership principles to lead with integrity and cultural grounding. Practice core supervision skills like delegation, performance coaching, and conflict resolution. Facilitate structured, goal-driven meetings and team huddles, both in-person and virtually. Use complex leadership tools such as systems thinking, decision-making frameworks, and accountability models. Develop a long-term leadership vision that aligns personal goals with community impact and organizational direction Lead through change and complexity, using strategic communication, planning, and resilience-building practices. Create a Leadership & Communication Portfolio including a personal leadership philosophy, communication samples, and a long-term career and vision plan.
